CAPS lock problem with Remote Desktop on OSX

Had a problem with remote desktop thinking I had caps lock on when I really didn’t.  Some internetting uncovered someone with the same problem and a fix:

How to both trigger the problem and fix it if you already have it. Follow 
all these steps in sequence and don’t do anything else between them. In your 
Remote Desktop: 

  1. Alt-Tab to another program
  2. Alt-Tab back
  3. Command-Tab to another OS X program
  4. Command-Tab back to RDC
  5. Before pressing any other keys, Alt-tab again (even if the menubar at the 
    top of your Windows program has been activated). This will just change the 
    focus to another menu item on the menu bar but that’s okay. (If your menu 
    bar isn’t activated, do this anyway).
  6. If your menu bar is still activated at this point, press the ESC key 
    until it isn’t.
